Description
The Phlebotomist performs venipuncture and other specimen collections, labels and processes specimens, matches requisitions to tubes, packages samples for transport, maintains patient and laboratory records, and follows OSHA, DEP, and laboratory protocols. The role also includes troubleshooting, training, workflow recommendations, telephone inquiries, and annual department training. Candidates need valid state phlebotomy certification, at least six months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced laboratory or hospital setting, Microsoft Office proficiency, and a high school diploma or GED.
