Lightmatter is hiring a Photonics Architect to define the micro-architecture of a photonic-based communication fabric and provide detailed technical specifications for the engineering team. The role covers photonic device design, performance, power, and area estimates, collaboration with photonic and analog engineering teams, and authoring and validating architectural specifications. Candidates need a relevant PhD, knowledge of photonic devices and semiconductor physics, integrated silicon photonics experience, and strong cross-disciplinary problem-solving skills. The role offers a base salary of $150,000–$220,000 USD, equity, and a flexible hybrid workplace model.
