Mesa Associates, Inc. is hiring a Substation Physical Engineering Manager to lead a small team of substation physical engineers, designers, and drafters on medium- to large-scale transmission substation projects. The role combines technical design and review of equipment, structural, foundation, grounding, and cable-routing work with client communication, PE sign/seal authority, quality assurance, standards development, proposal support, and team development. Candidates need an ABET-accredited engineering degree, an active Professional Engineer license, at least six years of substation/utility experience including four years of substation physical design, and expertise with AutoCAD, Bentley MicroStation, and grounding analysis tools. The position is Chattanooga-based or within commuting distance and requires periodic travel to client sites.
