Description
The role involves studying blueprints and specifications, calculating weld dimensions, inspecting structures and materials, operating torches and power supplies, monitoring welding to prevent overheating, polishing surfaces, maintaining equipment, and building and setting concrete forms. It requires outdoor work in all weather, long hours of standing and kneeling, lifting and carrying materials and tools, and three to five years or more of industry experience focused on roads, highways, and bridges.
