Description
The Marine Pilot serves as the senior onboard employee, responsible for safe and efficient crew, vessel, and tow operations; enforcing company policies and regulations; coordinating with shoreside management and the Coast Guard on reportable incidents; conducting safety drills and meetings; instructing crew; serving as the Vessel Security Officer; complying with the towing safety management system; and participating in crew management and performance evaluations. The role requires a TWIC Card, a USCG Master/Mate of Towing Vessels license endorsed for service, and compliance with USCG physical examination requirements.
