The Pilot Instructor provides aircraft systems and operational-procedure instruction in aircraft, classrooms, simulators, and practical environments; delivers pilot procedures, Crew Resource Management, and Instrument Refresher Course training; evaluates and remediates student performance; develops and reviews curriculum and courseware; and performs scheduling, recordkeeping, quality assurance, safety, and administrative duties. The role requires U.S. citizenship, a valid pilot license with appropriate ratings and endorsements, prior E-4B aircraft-commander or instructor-qualified experience, formal instructor-course completion, and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. It is a standard 40-hour workweek with possible overtime and weekend work, occasional travel, and physical demands including simulator and aircraft entry and up to six hours of standing instruction per day.
