Description
The Mechanical Installation Technician installs and secures mechanical equipment and piping for water and wastewater treatment plants. Responsibilities include measuring and marking installation areas, checking slopes with levels or lasers, installing lubricants, seals, and gaskets, and using hand or power tools to attach equipment and piping. The role requires knowledge of materials, methods, and tools; the ability to read and interpret plans; and the ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for four-hour periods.
