Lake Havasu City is hiring a Plans Examiner to review residential construction plans, structural documents, and construction specifications for compliance with building codes, city policies, and ordinances. The position coordinates reviews with engineering, fire, and planning departments, interprets blueprints and calculations, performs field inspections as needed, communicates corrections to contractors and developers, and maintains review records. An associate or technical degree in building construction or a related field, 1–3 years of plan-checking or building-construction experience, an ICC Building Plans Examiner or Residential Plans Examiner certification, and a valid driver license are required. The role is full-time, non-exempt, based in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, and pays $29.68–$43.04 per hour; a trainee rate of $26.71 per hour is also listed.
