Description

AtomTech is hiring a mid-senior PLC Programmer to design, program, commission, integrate, and support PLC, robotics, and controls systems in automotive manufacturing and launch environments. The role is in-person and field-based in Sterling Heights, requires direct General Motors manufacturing experience and at least five years of hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and FANUC robotics, and pays $32–$45 per hour. Responsibilities include on-site commissioning, troubleshooting live production systems, robotic-cell programming and optimization, system documentation, upgrades, and technical leadership during launches.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED
Required Previous Experiences: Mid-to-senior-level controls engineering experience in a commissioning role
Direct General Motors manufacturing experience
At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and FANUC robotics
Robotic integration, commissioning, and debugging experience
Experience leading startups and resolving high-impact production issues
Preferred Qualifications: Experience deploying or supporting AMR and AGV platforms
HMI development and industrial networking experience
Strong knowledge of safety standards, risk assessments, and compliance
Ability to work independently and own projects end-to-end
Clear technical communication with engineering and operations teams
