Description
The PLC Programmer designs, develops, and implements PLC programs to operate, monitor, and control various mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. They collaborate with engineering, project management, and field teams to integrate control strategies, troubleshoot issues, optimize system performance, and deliver high-quality automation solutions throughout the project lifecycle. Key responsibilities include working with design engineers to develop system control strategies, developing Rockwell and Siemens PLC programs using P&IDs, sequence of operation documentation, project plans, specifications, and customer requirements, performing integrations with communication protocols like Modbus, Ethernet/IP, Profibus, and BACnet, collaborating with SCADA developers for HMI integration, documenting simulation and testing protocols, and conducting various tests for program implementation. Up to 30% of the role involves traveling to customer sites for post-deployment support.
