Description
The Master Plumber installs, maintains, repairs, and inspects plumbing systems in residential and commercial buildings, including hotel plumbing systems. The role oversees projects, interprets blueprints, ensures compliance with plumbing codes, maintains fluid and water systems, repairs leaks and drain systems, and trains and supervises apprentice plumbers. It requires a high school diploma or GED, typically a journeyman plumber license and a state-administered master plumber exam, three years of plumbing experience, blueprint-reading ability, and welding experience preferred. The position involves physical work including climbing ladders, lifting up to 75 pounds, and exposure to chemicals and electrical hazards.
