Description
The Plumbing Inspector conducts inspections of plumbing systems during construction, renovation, and repair; reviews permits, plans, and specifications; identifies code violations and hazardous conditions; issues corrective-action notices; maintains inspection records; provides technical advice; responds to public complaints; and enforces plumbing ordinances. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, two years of licensed journey-plumber experience in Michigan or current master-plumber status, Act 407 registration, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work in construction and other physically demanding environments. The starting rate is $34.67–$35.53, with pay increases dependent on service, advancement, and contractual factors.
