Description
The City of Brookfield is hiring a Police Officer to preserve public peace, enforce city and state laws, respond to calls for service, conduct investigations, detain and process wanted individuals, interview suspects and witnesses, testify in court, patrol the city, prepare reports, and assist with crime prevention. Applicants must be 18, United States citizens, hold a valid Wisconsin driver’s license, meet Wisconsin technical college or college-credit requirements, and pass physical readiness standards. The 2025–2026 union contract salary range is $37.82–$49.76, with annual increases based on performance and possible step placement for sworn law enforcement experience. The selection process includes written and oral examinations, a department ride-along, background, medical, drug, psychological, and physical agility examinations.
