Rice University’s Department of Statistics is hiring a full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate to conduct independent and collaborative research in statistical learning, with a focus on uncertainty quantification, conformal prediction, and reliable machine learning under distribution shift. The researcher will develop statistical methodology, theory, computational approaches, and related artificial intelligence methods; analyze and communicate findings; prepare scholarly materials; present at seminars and conferences; and participate in departmental activities. The role is on-campus at Rice University, funded by grant, soft, and/or restricted funds, with an anticipated start in Summer or Fall 2027 and a hiring range of $60,000–$65,000 annually.
