Description
CEA’s Military Applications Directorate is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to study electronic correlations, spin–orbit coupling, and non-collinear magnetism in plutonium dioxide (PuO2). The project compares DFT+U with DFT+U+SOC+NC using the ABINIT code, first for bulk PuO2 and then for point defects and surfaces, to establish a hierarchy of computational methods and guide future studies. The fellowship is for two years plus two renewable one-year periods and is based in Bruyères-le-Châtel, Essonne, France.
