Description
CEA’s Military Applications Directorate is hiring a postdoctoral research staff member to develop new models for the ESTHER 1D Lagrangian code and validate them through experiments involving lasers, XFELs, synchrotrons, and high-pulse-power devices. The role involves analytical modeling, software development, numerical simulation, experimental analysis, interdisciplinary collaboration, and publication. It requires a PhD in plasma physics or a related field, basic plasma physics knowledge, experience with analytical models and software, an independent-research record, and strong communication skills. The contract is for two years plus two renewable one-year periods at the Bruyères-le-Châtel site in Essonne, France.
