Description

The successful candidate will lead the development, implementation, calibration, operation, and data analysis of a vertical multi-energy x-ray diagnostic on the WEST tokamak. This role involves active participation in the WEST research program, proposing and executing experiments, and developing data analysis codes. The system will enable a complete inference of core soft x-ray (SXR) emissivity profiles across multiple energy ranges, providing 2D measurements of electron temperature and impurity content to study particle and thermal transport, and investigate energetic electrons in lower hybrid current drive experiments. The work will also leverage real-time diagnostic data in conjunction with theoretical models and a rigorous verification and validation framework.
