Washington State University is hiring a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Plant Pathology at the Irrigated Agriculture Research and Education Center in Prosser, Washington. The researcher will study bacterial diseases of tree fruits, including apple fire blight, using microbiology, genome sequencing, comparative genomics, bacterial genetics, and functional genomics; develop biopesticides and disease-management practices; collaborate with growers and industry; train students; analyze and present research data; publish manuscripts; and travel in-state and regionally. The role is a full-time, one-year temporary appointment from November 1, 2026, through October 31, 2027, renewable for up to three years depending on funding and need.
