Michigan State University is hiring a Postdoctoral Scholar-Fixed Term in the Biochemistry & Molecular Biology department at East Lansing. The position is based in Dr. Kristin N. Parent’s laboratory, which studies virus assembly, infection, host-recognition mechanisms in dsDNA-containing bacteriophage, and uses biochemistry, molecular biology, biophysics, structural biology, and experimental evolution. The postdoc will spend approximately 75% of the time performing focused ion beam milling, cryo-electron tomography, image analysis, and three-dimensional reconstructions, with additional time for manuscript writing, professional development, and general laboratory duties. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in the Natural Sciences and evidence of productivity through publications; expertise in structural biology, molecular biology, bacterial genetics, virus research, biochemistry, or mammalian cell culture is preferred. The position is full-time, non-union, and requires availability before 2/15/2027.
