Michigan State University is hiring a full-time, 12-month fixed-term Postdoctoral Scholar in the Department of Microbiology, Genetics, & Immunology to work in Dr. Robert Abramovitch’s laboratory. The scholar will research Mycobacterium tuberculosis and nontuberculous mycobacterial pathogenesis and drug development, focusing on chemical biology, MmpL3 inhibition and resistance, and nitroreductase-dependent inhibitors. The role requires a PhD in microbiology, genetics, biochemistry, chemical biology, or a related field, along with microbiology experience appropriate for Biosafety Level 3 work; experience with Biosafety Level 3 laboratories and experimental mouse models is favorable. The position is supported by the MSU Research Foundation Postdoctoral Scholar Program and includes professional development and two years of funding support.
