Description

Michigan State University is hiring a full-time Postdoctoral Scholar in the Johnson Laboratory to investigate how female hormonal states affect drug metabolism, tissue-specific responses, and medicine efficacy and safety. The role involves designing and conducting mechanistic studies in thyroid and adipose tissue models, developing human cell culture systems, performing drug-metabolism and pharmacologic experiments, generating quantitative datasets, collaborating across endocrinology, toxicology, engineering, and computational modeling, publishing research, presenting at scientific meetings, and mentoring trainees. Applicants need a Ph.D. in a relevant biomedical or pharmacological field, a strong publication record, mammalian cell-culture and experimental-design experience, and strong communication skills; experience with primary cell culture, adipose biology, stem-cell models, endocrinology, thyroid signaling, or drug metabolism is preferred.
