Description
Michigan State University’s Hulin lab is hiring a postdoctoral scholar/fixed-term molecular plant bacteriologist in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. The role focuses on plant pathogenic bacteria evolution, especially how host range and pathogenicity of Pseudomonas syringae are genetically determined, with work split among laboratory experiments, computational analysis, and field work. Responsibilities include molecular and biochemistry techniques, bacterial mutant generation, genome sequencing, pathogenicity assays, bioinformatics using population genomics and phylogenetics, some machine-learning development, and publishing and presenting research.
