Description
The Animal Care Assistant provides hands-on care for dogs and cats in St Clair County’s animal shelter, including feeding, handling, socialization, enrichment, exercise, behavioral observation, medical support, recordkeeping, and facility cleaning. The role also serves visitors, volunteers, and adopters; participates in community outreach and training; and requires availability for part-time weekend and holiday work. It involves physically demanding work in varying weather, exposure to animals of all sizes and temperaments, and the ability to handle animals weighing up to 100 pounds with assistance.
