Description

Amazon is hiring a Power Electronics Design Engineer to design, simulate, prototype, qualify, and validate custom DC-DC converters for Amazon Leo satellites. Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
Required Previous Experiences: 5+ years designing switching DC-DC power converters, including topology selection, magnetics design, and control loop compensation
Experience taking power electronics designs from concept through production
Experience with isolated and non-isolated converter topologies in production hardware
Experience measuring, troubleshooting, and debugging power electronics in a laboratory environment
Experience developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and test procedures
Preferred Qualifications: Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering focused on power electronics
Custom magnetics design, including transformer and inductor development, core and material selection, and loss analysis
Experience with resonant, flyback, forward, and multi-phase converter topologies
EMC/EMI design and mitigation for switching converters
Simulation-driven design methodology using LTspice, PLECS, or equivalent
Experience in aerospace, satellite, or high-reliability hardware environments
Deep understanding of power semiconductor tradeoffs involving Si, SiC, and GaN
Experience with reliability analysis, derating, and worst-case circuit analysis
Experience mentoring or technically leading other engineers
