Description

TransGrid Energy is hiring a Power Markets Associate to build analytical infrastructure and turn market, operational, pricing, weather, and settlement data into commercial intelligence for battery and solar assets. The role involves data pipelines, SQL and Python analytics, automated reporting, dashboards, portfolio-risk monitoring, trading support, settlement validation, and onboarding of new assets and markets. It is currently remote and may transition to an onsite arrangement in Houston, Texas, with no visa sponsorship.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, engineering, mathematics, computer science, or a related field
Required Previous Experiences: At least 2 years of experience in power markets, asset optimization, commercial asset management, market operations, trading analytics, or related wholesale energy-market activity
Experience using SQL and Python, including Pandas and NumPy, for data analysis, automation, and reporting
Experience building or supporting data workflows, automated reporting, or analytical tools used in business decision-making
Preferred Qualifications: Experience supporting BESS bidding, renewable asset optimization, or cash-market trading activity
Familiarity with ISO/RTO markets such as CAISO, ERCOT, PJM, NYISO, or MISO
Experience with market-modeling, trading, or scheduling tools such as Dayzer, PROMOD, or similar platforms
Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or other business-intelligence and visualization tools
Experience supporting hedge analysis, settlement review, collateral monitoring, or P&L attribution
Working knowledge of VBA, statistical methods, or predictive modeling techniques relevant to power-market analysis
