Description
The Utility Substation Design and Drafting Engineer designs economical, safe, reliable, and efficient electric utility power systems, including substation drawings, engineering studies, specifications, cost estimates, construction drawings, permitting, and assessments. The role performs CAD work, coordinates with clients and contractors, supports outage restoration and grid inspections, and works autonomously on various projects. It requires at least three years of related utility design or drafting experience, knowledge of utility grid systems and applicable codes, engineering calculations, and proficiency with utility design software. The schedule is primarily 40 hours per week Monday through Friday, with occasional travel, extended hours, weekends, holidays, on-call duties, and occasional overnight travel.
