Description

Worley Consulting is hiring a Power Systems Engineer to support renewable energy and conventional generation projects across Australia. The role involves power system studies, grid connection and compliance activities, connection enquiries, technical reporting, regulatory submissions, power system modelling, data analysis, and project documentation. The engineer will work under senior engineers and technical leaders, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and develop expertise in the National Electricity Market and Wholesale Electricity Market. A relevant electrical or power systems engineering degree and typically 2–5 years of experience are sought, with PSCAD, PSS®E, and DIgSILENT PowerFactory exposure advantageous. Flexible and hybrid working arrangements are offered.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or an equivalent relevant qualification
Required Previous Experiences: Typically 2–5 years of experience in power systems, utilities, renewable energy, consulting, generation, transmission, distribution, or a related industry
Preferred Qualifications: Understanding of power system analysis, network studies, or electrical engineering principles
Exposure to PSCAD, PSS®E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, or similar power system modelling software
Interest in renewable energy, electricity networks, and the energy transition
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
Familiarity with Python, automation tools, or data analysis techniques
