Archer is hiring a Powertrain Architect to evaluate and size hybrid-electric propulsion systems for a next-generation eVTOL aircraft. The role covers combustion engine selection, electric motors and generators, thermal management, battery behavior, performance and efficiency mapping, duty-cycle estimation, and integration of powertrain models into a vehicle-level multidisciplinary design optimization stack. Candidates need aerospace or high-power propulsion experience, optimization knowledge, and experience in at least two of electromagnetic sizing, thermal management, or battery modeling; the position targets a base pay range of $172,800 to $237,600 and does not offer work visa sponsorship.
