Description
The SKAO Data Scientist will support the implementation and management of data analysis and management software for the Square Kilometre Array, participate in the SKA Regional Centre Network, and develop efficient computing and data-science solutions. The role involves large-array processing, FFT algorithms, MPI, GPU-based visibility imaging, Bayesian methods, machine learning, data provenance, workflow management, and networking and authentication protocols. A PhD in Data Science, Mathematics, Astrophysics, or an equivalent research field is required, along with experience in large-array data processing and strong programming skills in C, C++, FORTRAN, Python, and Java; GPU programming experience is desirable.
