Sciforium is hiring a Pre-training Research Engineer to implement, scale, and improve byte-native and multimodal foundation models. The role involves training large models on heterogeneous corpora, developing architectures and training objectives, running scaling experiments, analyzing model behavior, and collaborating with data and distributed-training engineers. Candidates need at least five years of machine learning research or engineering experience, strong software and deep-learning skills, GPU and distributed-training experience, and an MS or PhD in a relevant field.
