DESY is hiring a Precision mechanic / electrician / mechatronics engineer as operator for its Hamburg site to control, monitor, and operate helium refrigeration systems for XFEL and FLASH, bring plants and test fields to operating modes, assess operating data, respond to deviations, and support maintenance, repair, and modernization. The role requires vocational training or equivalent knowledge in metal processing, electrical engineering, electronics, or mechatronics, experience operating large machines or plants, shift and on-call availability, English proficiency, and strong communication and teamwork skills. The position is permanent and available full-time or part-time, with an application deadline of 23.09.2026.
