Description
The J is hiring a Swim Instructor to teach American Red Cross group swim lessons for children age 6 months and up, as well as private lessons for all ages and abilities. The role provides skill-based instruction, maintains attendance and performance records, and enforces safety guidelines in The J’s Overland Park Aquatics Department. The schedule is Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., with flexible weekday, weekend, and evening opportunities. Compensation starts at $11–$13 per 30-minute lesson based on experience, and benefits include free individual membership, discounts, and professional development. Applicants must be American Red Cross WSI certified or able to obtain certification before the start date, at least 16 years old, and able to communicate effectively with children and parents; previous competitive swimming, teaching, or coaching experience is a plus.
