Description
The President of the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind will serve as the Chief Executive Officer and highest-ranking administrative officer, reporting to the Board of Trustees. The role provides strategic and operational leadership across K–12 schools, vocational rehabilitation, regional centers, early intervention, and Alabama Industries for the Blind; oversees multi-million-dollar budgets, state and federal appropriations, grants, capital projects, compliance, risk management, data security, and statewide advocacy; and represents the institution nationally. Candidates need a relevant master’s degree, at least 10 years of senior educational-administrative experience, complex budget and appropriations experience, and intermediate sign-language proficiency within 36 months. The position offers a 260-day schedule, negotiable compensation, health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement, deferred compensation, paid time off, and an executive residence.
