The Press Operator at Magnera ensures high-quality printed products by utilizing statistical process control and troubleshooting techniques. They lead a printing press crew, optimizing machine efficiency and raw material usage while maintaining a safe and organized workspace. The role involves completing safety training, understanding product specifications, collecting data, performing basic math, operating color-measuring instruments, monitoring ink viscosity, applying basic color theory, identifying root causes of issues, communicating effectively, adhering to safety protocols, and continuously improving processes. The operator must also understand flexographic printing press components, follow changeover procedures, interpret job travelers, recognize and troubleshoot problems, transfer shift information, understand SDS and SOC sheets, demonstrate strong organization skills, handle solvents and ink correctly, and adapt break schedules as needed.
