Description
The Prevention Worker provides prevention and early-intervention services to children, youth, and families, using culturally supportive, strength-based, and least-intrusive approaches to keep families together and minimize child welfare intervention. The role involves planning and delivering social, recreational, educational, and wellness programs; collaborating with community and child-welfare services; and supporting family outcomes. It requires a social-work or related degree or diploma, at least two years of related child-welfare experience, leadership and communication skills, knowledge of relevant child-welfare legislation and the Biigtigong Nishnaabeg community, and a Vulnerable Sector Check, class G driver’s licence, and reliable transportation.
