United Airlines is hiring a Data and Machine Learning Engineer to build and operate cloud-native machine learning infrastructure and services, including AWS-based container and serverless platforms, data pipelines, Spark and Flink applications, and large-scale model training and serving. The role also focuses on developing, optimizing, evaluating, debugging, and deploying generative AI and large language models, along with LLMOps and agentic operations. Candidates need a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, at least five years of software engineering and machine learning experience, strong Python and additional-language expertise, and experience with cloud, data, and generative AI technologies. The base salary is $147,060 to $191,516, with bonus and long-term incentive compensation possible.
