Qonto is hiring a Principal Backend Engineer in the Foundations domain to architect and scale high-volume systems supporting transactions, search, billing, permissions, integrations, and other critical platform functions. The role owns end-to-end technical initiatives across multiple teams, identifies architectural risks, shapes the technical roadmap, and mentors engineers. Candidates should have experience designing and scaling large-scale backend systems, leading complex multi-team initiatives, working autonomously in ambiguous environments, and using AI tools to accelerate architecture and communication.
