AECOM is hiring a Principal BESS Engineer to lead technical and commercial advisory services for utility-scale battery energy storage systems across development, procurement, contracting, design, construction, commissioning, and operation. The role focuses on Owner's Engineer and procurement engagements, including defining project duty profiles, preparing principal requirements and technical schedules, evaluating OEM and integrator proposals, supporting tender evaluations and contract negotiations, and coordinating BESS interfaces across electrical, civil, fire, grid, and operational systems. Candidates should have substantial utility-scale BESS experience, strong technical and commercial acumen, and relevant engineering qualifications; flexible hybrid work arrangements are available.
