Software AG is hiring a Principal Compiler Architect to own the end-to-end compiler for its JOPAZ product, which compiles COBOL applications to the JVM. The role focuses on correctness, semantic mapping, JVM performance, optimization strategy, cross-cutting architecture decisions, and technical and people leadership. Candidates must have production compiler construction experience, multi-year JVM expertise, correctness and semantics engineering, and the ability to lead technical decisions in a long-lived codebase.
