Software AG is hiring a Principal Compiler Architect in India to own the end-to-end compiler for its JOPAZ product, which compiles COBOL applications for the JVM. The role focuses on correctness, semantic mapping, JVM performance, optimization strategy, cross-cutting architecture decisions, and growing into technical and people leadership. Candidates must have production compiler construction experience, multi-year JVM expertise, correctness and semantics engineering, architecture-level judgment, and technical leadership instincts; COBOL, z/OS, and formal-verification experience are strong plus points.
