Description
WEX is hiring a Principal Database Engineer to modernize and scale enterprise SQL Server and AI-enabled data platforms. The role focuses on SQL Server and T-SQL modernization, performance tuning, migration automation, replication, event-driven patterns, large-scale OLTP and OLAP systems, and AI-assisted development and vector-based data infrastructure. The engineer will independently lead complex initiatives, resolve production issues, partner with application, SRE, operations, architecture, and AI/ML teams, and mentor other engineers. The position requires 15+ years of relevant technical experience and offers a base pay range of $165,800 to $204,400, with health, dental, vision, retirement, paid time off, and other benefits.
