GKN Aerospace is hiring a Principal Design Engineer for its Transparencies team at the Luton manufacturing plant in the United Kingdom. The role is a technical authority position focused on leading complex aerospace product development for fast jet canopies, helicopter windscreens, and flight deck windows across the full lifecycle, including concept development, requirements, design, materials and process selection, tooling support, manufacturing development, qualification, and in-service support. The position requires strong aerospace design experience, a degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering, familiarity with CATIA V5 and digital/model-based engineering, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work with customers, regulators, manufacturing, and operations; UK security clearance is also required.
