Description
AECOM is hiring a Principal Ecologist to lead and support ecological consultancy and advisory services for internal and external clients. The role oversees ecological project planning, schedules, resources, budgets, and controls; develops solutions for complex ecological issues; produces ecology chapters for environmental statements and protected species licence applications; reviews technical deliverables; and supports the development of technical capabilities. The position is based in one of several UK locations and offers a flexible hybrid working model. Applicants need a degree in ecology or an associated subject, professional membership and protected species survey or mitigation licences, and experience leading ecological surveys, licensing, impact assessments, project management, budgets, stakeholder discussions, and technical review.
