Rocket Lab Optical Systems is hiring a Principal Electrical Engineer in Chantilly, Virginia to lead the full lifecycle of avionics hardware for electro-optical space systems. The role covers system architecture, complex electronics design, PCBA requirements and verification, environmental qualification, failure analysis, manufacturing and yield optimization, and technical leadership of engineering teams. Candidates need a master’s degree or equivalent advanced experience, at least 12 years of progressive aerospace electrical hardware design experience, expertise in FPGA and embedded systems, and U.S. citizenship with eligibility for a U.S. Government Security Clearance. The base salary range is $173,300 to $259,850 USD, with medical, dental, and vision insurance and other benefits.
