Description
Astera Labs is hiring a Principal Electrical Engineer to own the electrical architecture and hardware design of active copper cable and pluggable modules for OSFP, QSFP-DD, and emerging form factors targeting 400G, 800G, and beyond. The role leads SerDes, power delivery, signal integrity, PCB design, module management, bring-up, validation, failure analysis, and DFT/DFM activities while partnering with firmware, silicon, contract-manufacturing, and customer teams. It requires a bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field, 10–12+ years of progressive experience including at least five years in high-speed SerDes-based interconnect or pluggable-module products, and expert knowledge of high-speed digital design and MSA specifications. The base salary is $185,000 to $240,000, with possible discretionary bonus, incentives, and benefits.
