Description

GitLab is hiring a Principal Engineer to lead technical direction and hands-on development of the Duo Agent Platform, an agentic orchestration layer for AI agents across the software development lifecycle. The role covers agent execution, flow orchestration, extensibility, model routing and evaluation, governance and safety, observability, and incident management, while mentoring senior engineers and collaborating with Engineering, Product, Infrastructure, and Security. It requires 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years at Staff or Principal level, production experience with large language models, distributed systems expertise, and experience with Ruby, Go, Python, or TypeScript. The role is fully remote and offers a United States base salary range of $250,000 to $325,000 USD.
