Microchip Technology Inc. is hiring a Principal Engineer – Layout to lead automated place-and-route activities from floorplanning through GDSII tapeout. The role focuses on physical design, automation, design-flow optimization, timing and design closure, power integrity, signal integrity, physical verification, ECO implementation, and design signoff. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, solve complex physical-design challenges, and support successful project execution. The position requires 10+ years of relevant experience, strong scripting and automation skills, and U.S. export-control eligibility.
