Description
The Canal & River Trust is hiring a Principal Mechanical & Electrical Engineer for a national role leading M&E infrastructure risk, inspection and maintenance strategy, technical governance, design assurance, asset data, standards, and capital programmes. The role provides strategic technical leadership and line management of a team of 35, including Senior M&E Engineers, and requires travel across the waterway network, typically 1–2 days per week, with occasional overnight stays. Applicants should be Chartered Electrical or Mechanical Engineers or working towards that qualification, with substantial experience in complex M&E engineering, inspection, maintenance, and infrastructure risk assessment. The annual base salary is £56,000–£64,000, with a car cash allowance of £425 per month and additional pension and holiday benefits.
