Description
Microsoft is hiring a Principal Engineering Manager to lead the Engine and PostgreSQL Extensions team for Azure Database for PostgreSQL. The role owns core database engine capabilities, PostgreSQL extensions development and integration, open-source community engagement, technical strategy, reliability and performance, and the growth of a high-impact engineering team. Responsibilities include defining service fundamentals, leading distributed-systems and cloud infrastructure teams, delivering end-to-end engineering features, mentoring engineers, and driving automation, observability, and service infrastructure improvements. The position requires at least 12 years of engineering experience in distributed systems, databases, platform engineering, and cloud services, plus 4+ years leading highly available cloud services and infrastructure teams.
