Coherent is hiring a Firmware Engineer to develop embedded firmware, control algorithms, and reusable features for optical amplifier modules, optical transport subsystems, and micro-optics products. The role is split between 80% firmware development and testing, and 20% technical leadership, including mentoring, code reviews, customer support, and sustaining-product defect resolution. Candidates need a degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related discipline, at least eight years of embedded and real-time control-system experience, advanced embedded C++ and object-oriented design skills, and knowledge of NIOS, ARM, GNU toolchains, Agile/CI/CD, debugging tools, and digital signal processing.
